11.6.6 & Catalina 10.15.7 security update
Apple has launched macOS Big Sur 11.6.6 as well as a security update that upgrades to macOS Catalina 10.15.7 that brings minor changes to the previous-generation Mac operating systems that are likely to focus on security and enhancements to the under-the-hood.
It’s not yet clear which specific updates or fixes are with macOS 11.6.6 and macOS 10.15.7 however, these are likely minor, with no significant features that affect users.
Apple last released an update for macOS Big Sur in March with the release of macOS Big Sur 11.6.5, which fixed a range of security issues. Prior to this, Apple updated the macOS Big Sur platform in February, with macOS 11.6.4.
Apple Announces macOS Big Sur
This macOS Monterey 12.4 update on Monday also included minor enhancements to the CPU and bugs corrections.
Apple initially released macOS Big Sur in November 2020. The update introduced a number of significant modifications in Apple’s Mac operating system such as new user interfaces along with the ability to support Apple Silicon.
