Chick fil a Waffle Potato Fries Review

Chick fil a Waffle Potato Fries

Despite being on almost every fast-food chain’s menu, the fries were not very different. Although I love regular French fries, and will always do so, I was craving something more. So I decided to give Chick fil a Waffle Potato Fries a try.

History of Waffle Fries

Chick-fil-A opened its doors for the first time on November 24, 1967. The restaurant was founded in Atlanta, Georgia, and its main menu item was the chicken sandwich.

The restaurant was opened 18 years ago. It was then that the waffle fries were invented by the Johnson family of Washington State. They are now the most popular item on the restaurant’s restaurant menu. It is interesting to see how a restaurant that started around a chicken sandwich ended with potato fries taking over.

How Chick fil a Waffle Potato Fries are made

Chick fil a is well-known for its strict quality control. Every location will strive to provide the highest quality food to customers every day. It applies to all items on the menu but especially waffle fries. The potatoes are grown near their original Washington restaurant, and specifically from Columbia River farms that are known for their rich mineral soil.

Chick fil a Waffle Potato Fries are unique in their shape and must be prepared in a particular way. They are made by cutting the end of the potato downward with a crinkle knife. After rotating the potato 90°, slice again. Once the fries are sliced, they are cooked in olive oil until crispy on the outside and tender inside.

What’s the deal with the Waffle Fry Form?

Chick fil a Waffle Potato Fries are not accidental. They were designed for aesthetic reasons. Because the waffle shape allows for a larger potato slice, it is more surface-friendly than regular French fries. This allows more potatoes to be in contact with the oil. The result is waffle fries that are crispier than regular French fries. This shape and its surface allow more sauce to stick to your fry.

TASTE AND TEXTURE

Waffle Potato Fries are superior to regular fries in every way. While we all love soft fries, we also like crispier fries. Waffle fries have a greater crispy area so you can enjoy a satisfying crunch when you bite into them.

The inside of the fries is soft and tender, just like great French fries. The fries are perfectly seasoned to bring out their flavor.

Are They Healthy?

A single serving of waffle fries, or 113g, has the following nutritional values: 360 calories; 18g fat; 43g carbohydrates; 5g protein; 370mg sodium.

We can see that these fries are not very nutritious but will fill you up. Although the sodium and calories aren’t very good for you, they are no different from regular fries.

We can all agree that waffle fries aren’t healthy. However, we do eat them for their deliciousness!

Is it worth it?

Chick fil a Waffle Potato Fries cost varies depending on where you are located. Typically, the small fries cost $1.89 and medium fries $2.15 respectively, while the large fries cost $2.45.

These fries are more expensive than the regular fries at fast-food restaurants, but they taste better and are much larger.

All of this being said, I believe they are worth every penny, as many customers return to them time and again.

Chick-fil-A recently added Waffle Potato Chips to their restaurant menu. They are simply amazing. You can now choose between crunchy and soft waffle fries or crispy waffle chips for your side dish.
