FIFA President 2022: After Brazil and England’s triumphs, Gianni Infantino writes messages of encouragement to all five nations who were named champions of the continent in July.

Gianni Infantino is also offering encouraging words to all nations in the lead-up to the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023(TM)

The FIFA World Women’s Cup(TM) begins on the 20th of July in 2023.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino has congratulated all five female champions from the continental tournament after an incredible month for international football. On LinkedIn, the president felicitated the champions of five confederations after the lineup of champions was completed after Brazil and England’s wins during their individual finals.

The FIFA President stated: “My congratulations go to the champions, who are the United States, South Africa, Brazil, Papua New Guinea, and England for taking home their own tournaments and to every team who has been able to secure their tickets to FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia to the champions South Africa, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Brazil, and New Zealand 2023, or the play-off tournament to take place in February. We are now counting down to next year’s tournament, as we seek to make women’s soccer #BeyondGreatness for 2023.”

On Saturday, Brazil claimed their eighth Copa America Femenina title, by winning 1-0 against the host nation, Colombia. With record-breaking crowds cheering hosts throughout the event, with the distance shrinking to the traditional dominant Brazil the 2023 version of Copa America Femenina has also been seen as an overwhelming victory. In July, just like England, Papua New Guinea and South Africa claimed their first continental trophy.

Papua New Guinea secured its title by winning 2-1 against Fiji at the end of the OFC Women’s Nations Cup 2022 and South Africa triumphed over Morocco by the same score at the 2022 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final. In other matches, the USA were crowned Concacaf W Championship winners after the 1-0 win over Canada.
