Arteaga Gerardo Daniel Zamora (born 7 September 1998) is a Mexican professional footballer who plays the position of right-back in the Jupiler Pro League club Genk as well as the Mexico nation’s national side.

Santos Laguna


Arteaga Gerardo joined Santos Laguna’s youth academy in 2013. On 1 October 2016, under manager Jose Manuel de la Torre, he made his professional debut in Liga MX against title=”Queretaro F.C. “>Queretaro ending in a 1-1 draw.


Genk


On the 26th of July, the 26th of July, 2020 Santos Laguna announced the decision to transfer Arteaga Gerardo to Belgian team Genk with a cost of EUR3.5 million for a five-year agreement. Arteaga Gerardo made his debut with Genk on the 24th of August, in a match against Westerlo in a draw of 2-2.


International Career

Arteaga Gerardo was part of the final team that played in the Toulon Tournament. He would take part in all five matches during the tournament. Mexico made it to an elimination match against England in which Mexico was defeated 2-1.

Arteaga Gerardo was drafted to Mexico by Jaime Lozano to participate with the team of under-22 players at the 2019 Toulon Tournament which was where Mexico came third in the tournament. The Mexican team was third in the tournament.

In September of 2018, Arteaga was summoned by the interim coach Ricardo Ferretti for September friendlies against Uruguay and the United States. Arteaga made his debut for the national team with the United States on September 11th, 2018. Mexico was defeated 0-1.
