Motorola will release a 200MP Camera phone in July


Motorola China officially confirmed a camera phone with a new 200MP resolution will be scheduled to launch in July. It’s most likely an update to the popular Motorola Frontier smartphone which has been in the news since the year 2000.

The teaser of the new smartphone is touting the camera’s 200MP resolution as a “new benchmark for image experience”.

Based on speculations from the past, Motorola is expected to make use of Samsung’s 200MP ISOCELL HP1 sensor.

The sensor is capable of delivering 12.5MP and 50 MP stills through pixel binning as well as its deep-learning-based demosaicing technique. It also supports 8K video recording at 30fps.

Motorola recently announced that it’s working on the Snapdragon 8+ Generation 1 phone likely to be the same phone that will debut the camera with a resolution of 200MP.
