The GPU market seems to have descended into turmoil with the recent crypto crash. What was a slow trickle of GPUs back into the market has turned into a deluge in the past few weeks. Although it was encouraging to see prices creep back towards MSRP, we’ve now blown way past that marker.

At least, that’s true for some models. Case in point is Nvidia’s flagship GPU; the RTX 3090 Ti. This GPU was impossible to find when it first launched, despite costing over $2,000. At some points, it was even being scalped for over $3,000. Those days are over, as Nvidia is having a fire sale right now on the RTX 3090 Ti.

The MSRP of Nvidia’s top-of-the-line graphics card is $999. Best Buy is currently offering the Founder’s Edition for just $1,599. It’s certainly a lot of money for a graphics card however, the $400 discount off MSRP is a huge change in market. And, even more outrageously, EVGA is selling its hybrid cooling model for $700 less. It’s $1,499 rather than $2,199.

It’s an obvious instance of Nvidia trying to get rid of the shelves. In the end, 40-series time and who would be willing to spend that much cash on an GPU right now? Particularly when all reports suggest that the 3090 Ti will eventually be beaten by a 40-series card, which will likely cost only half of the cost.

Another issue is that it’s obvious Nvidia did not follow through with the time of its launch. It was a mistake to wait until the final days of the design’s lifespan to eliminate the top GPU could have been logical earlier. However, that was because in the past, it took more than nine months before a new generation of GPUs was announced. It wasn’t an issue this time around, partially due to the fact that Nvidia needed delay the launch of its 3090 Ti. delay the release of its 3090 Ti.

The second issue is that the 3090 Ti’s performance is barely quicker than the RTX 3090. Although it has no significant gains the 3090 Ti was sold to gamers at a shocking $500 premium. It was widely known that it was outrageous price back then and it’s even more insane in the present. However, $1,599 seems more reasonable, with the standard 3090 costing $100 less, provided you locate one.

This is an intriguing dilemma for those who want to upgrade their PCs. The hybrid-cooled EVGA card is an incredible bargain, since it comes with 360mm AIO cooler. It’s hard to miss, provided you can afford it. However, what happens if Nvidia’s Ada Lovelace GPUs are launched this month in august?

The latest RTX 4080 is twice as powerful for a price of just $900? It would be regrettable for deciding to go on that offer. If you’re not completely content with the quality of service it provides. However, if you wanted the 4K resolution at 144Hz then you may want to wait until the 40-serie
