According to a news release from SVP Product Innovation at Papa John’s Paul Fabre, the Papadia was inspired by the ‘piadina’ flatbread sandwich made in Northern Italy. The original Papa John’s crust is combined with fresh toppings to make it the best of both worlds: it’s both pizza and sandwich.

You can order Papa John’s Papadia sandwiches in four different varieties. These are:

  • Italian This pizza sandwich is filled with spicy Italian sausage, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella cheese, and banana peppers. It’s served with pizza sauce.
  • Philly Cheesesteak – This Papadia is stuffed full of slices of Philly steak, onions and green peppers, mozzarella cheese, Philly sauce, and garlic sauce.
  • Grilled BBQ chicken and bacon This pizza sandwich has grilled chicken, bacon, and onions. It is served with BBQ sauce.
