The Punjab police have announced the prison complaint management system application that will assist people with online registration of complaints and also make the system of complaint redress more transparent.
In a statement issued on Wednesday Punjab inspector general (IG) Prisons, Shahid Saleem Baig stated that the Complaint Management had been launched to serve as a communication medium with the people of the world and the prison department.
“It is an integrated public distress redressal application that connects all prisons across Punjab for the timely resolution of shortcomings faced by the general public,” the official explained.
According to the IG Prisons, people will be able to file complaints and follow the procedure based on this application. The app will also be available on the Android and Apple Mobile platforms.
“This mobile application aims to help citizens quickly and ensure transparency in the Prison Complaint Management system,” said the IG.
The application was developed in collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and was initially tested in the Lahore District Jail before being made available throughout the province.
