2021 – Sean Johnson was appointed Club Captain at start of year. and he has continued his stellar reputation in the sticks for 2021. Johnson was once again a Club Captain, helping the Club reach the playoffs. In that time, he scored two big penalty saves in playoff games. The two incredible stops against Portland Timbers in MLS Cup helped the team become 4-2 winners on penalty kicks.
2020: In 2020, the U.S. international played 23 matches in MLS and kept seven clean sheets. This reaffirmed American’s reputation as a critical part of the team.
2019: He was a goalkeeper and played in 29 matches. NYCFC games were only missed when he was on international duty. Johnson was a top-notch goalkeeper in Major League Soccer, recording seven shutouts and making 78 saves.

2012: In 31 matches, earned five shutouts. Also, scored 1.24 goals per match in 2,766 minutes. As part of the U.S. U 23 Men’s National Team for Olympic Qualifying, missed three matches in the season. MLS Cup Playoffs : Started and played all 90 minutes of a 2-1 loss against HOU in Eastern Conference Knockout match 10/31.
