AS Roma

Abraham signed an initial five-year contract with AS Roma in August 2021. This was after much speculation. He was awarded the number nine shirt.

The deal is said to include a buyback option for Chelsea FC, which would become active after two years (more details below).

Abraham stated that Roma was interested immediately and could be felt when a club is really looking for him.

Abraham made his debut for AS Roma against Fiorentina in Serie A on 22 August 2021. He assisted two goals in the home win of 3-1.

His first goal for AS Roma came on 29 August 2021 when he defeated Salernitana in Serie A with a 4-0 victory.

The Athletic states that Abraham made around PS70,000 per week at Chelsea FC before he was transferred to AS Roma in 2021.

The Athletic reported Abraham’s move to Roma and that he would receive a salary of approximately EUR6m annually. This works out to around EUR115,000 per week.

It was widely reported that the fee for his transfer to Roma in 2021 would be approximately EUR40m (PS34m).

According to The Athletic’s report, Chelsea FC also included a buy-back option. The buyback option could not be activated until two seasons had passed. It was worth EUR80m (PS68m).

International Career

Abraham represented England at various levels as a youth player and made his senior debut for Three Lions in a friendly against Germany at Wembley on 10 November 2017.

His first senior goal was scored by England on 14th November 2019 when he defeated Montenegro 7-0 in Euro 2020 qualifying.
