Polio in 2022
The national telecommunications company raised awareness through its extensive network to encourage the prevention of the illness, which can cause physical impairment to children for the rest of their lives if it is not caught early.
Unfortunately, Pakistan is one of the two countries where the disease is still present. In Pakistan, the government of Pakistan, with the aid of the National Emergency Center and other actors, is working continuously to end the disease and ensure the future and lives of our children.
This time, PTCL and Ufone 4G took on the task of raising awareness about the necessity for children to be vaccinated to avoid the possibility of suffering from long-term physical impairment due to this easily preventable disease.
PTCL as well as Ufone 4G supported the three-day Polio Vaccination Drive from May 23 until May 25th, 2022 by sending SMS broadcasts to the 11 areas of KPK and the tribal districts that were once part of it, which included Kohat, Orakzai, Kurram, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, North Waziristan, South Waziristan, D.I. Khan, and Tank.
The Urdu message broadcast in Urdu urged parents to ensure their children are vaccine-free during each vaccination campaign to ensure their health and security.
Commenting on the campaign, the Head of PR & Corporate Communication, PTCL Group, Amir Pasha stated, “We are glad to help those working with the National Emergency Center and the Government of Pakistan towards the elimination of polio in Pakistan.” This is crucial for us as it is about protecting our children from enduring dependence. “
“We at PTCL and Ufone 4G will continue to use our infrastructure and services to generate value for the community through our corporate social responsibility programs.” We hope to make a difference in reducing vaccine hesitancy and ensuring that our country’s future generations are educated and healthy. ” He added.

“We need more cooperation like this to promote vaccination across all regions of Pakistan so that all children are safe and grow to their full potential,” he said.
The concept that grew out of its CSR goals reflects the organization’s dedication to social responsibility and sustainable growth within the country.
